Hygienshoppen is a Swedish e-commerce retailer specializing in hygiene and healthcare products. With a range of approximately 2 500 products, including Sweden's largest range of disposable gloves, the company serves both private consumers and business customers.

Background

During the pandemic, Hygienshoppen took on a major system overhaul – switching e-commerce platform and migrating to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This transition created the perfect moment to rethink how invoices, both outgoing and incoming, were handled.

As the business grew during the pandemic, so did the complexity of its supplier relationships.

Why Golden EDI?

Hygienshoppen had a clear strategy – as few partners as possible, but with broad and deep competence and deep collaboration over point solutions.

Golden EDI's focused expertise in Business Central integrations stood out, and the timing of the AP Automation launch worked in their favor, it arrived exactly when the need was greatest. Hygienshoppen knew they were one of the first customers for the AP automation solution and were prepared for some initial hiccups but the foundation of trust from the existing collaboration made that an easy decision.

The challenge

Every supplier invoice meant manual work: printing, typing in data, and limited visibility before payment. With a constantly growing product range, that wasn't sustainable way of working.

Annika, who manages logistics flows and works hands-on with the day to day operations, brought a critical perspective: the gap between how things are designed to work technically and how they actually work in practice. That combination of technical understanding and real-world experience was essential in shaping the right solution.

Implementation

From first contact to decision, things moved fast. Golden EDI had a clear process in place, and the implementation ran smoothly, even as operational incidents emerged.

Results

Since implementation, Hygienshoppen has experienced clear and tangible value. The team no longer needs to print invoices, a small but meaningful step from an environmental perspective. They also have much better control over payments, with the ability to review invoices before approving them. Manual data entry is gone, freeing up time for more meaningful work. And because the solution runs natively in Business Central without external dependencies, it's robust and low-maintenance by design.

Looking ahead

What started as an outgoing invoice integration has grown into a broader partnership. The ambition is to keep adding flows and capabilities over time, building out a connected ecosystem within Business Central.
